Copyright CostsObtaining a copyright is FREE - the law provides that copyright automatically exists when a work is written down or otherwise recorded. Using Copyright Notice, such as "© Shewchuk IP Services 2004" is FREE, with no further statutory requirements. Registering a copyright, if you're willing to complete and send in your own form, is nearly free - current filing fees are $30. Having the copyright registration form completed and correspondence with the Copyright Office done for you through a knowledgeable attorney should still only cost a few hundred dollars. All costs given are exemplary only, and represent neither an estimate nor a quotation for any project or work previously or subsequently performed.
